They lure sailors by singing and with lovely music. They
live in a kingdom on the bottom of the sea, and it is here they take their
prisoners to. A marine creature with the head and upper body of a beautiful
young maiden and with the lower body of a fish. She can be found in seas and
lakes, or lying on a rock and combing her hair with one hand while holding a
mirror in the other. A mermaid, that is.
A friend of mine told me of her cute and child-like fascination with
those. Although a myth, sailors says it brings good fortune. But whether this
is true or not, it is up to us to make a fortune for ourselves. Mermaids are
just conscious hallucinations of our want to live better amidst this
half-cooked reality. Let the beauty of the mermaid inspire us. Let her sweet music
accompany us to a life that is good and worthy.
