Destiny

Call it fate if you want but I was moved from the movie that I saw last night. I’m usually fond of action, suspense and mystery type but this time, I saw myself being drawn to a romantic feel-good movie. The movie is entitled ‘The Lucky One’. There was something about it that intrigued me. It was destiny, as was themed by the movie.

It is absolutely true what it said that destiny sometimes come in least unexpected circumstances. The people around you, the places and even the sudden glow on your face are things uncalled for. Things happen for a purpose be it good or bad.

It is only our prerogative to invite destiny to play a role in our lives or not. Through this life, it’s destiny or fate that guides us. We still have final say on how we are going to live it. A beautiful and happy life is the one that is lived fully made and guided by destiny.

Realization

It’s been over a week now since I started bursting some good ‘ol articles of mine which are of equal relevance in our lives, a way or another. It reminded me of how aware I was before. It also brought memories of my temporary stupidity.

I regretted things I should take notice and cognizance before. It brought me back to a standstill position where I cannot return. A barrage of ‘ifs’, should and could have entered my battered mind. Wrong decisions, mistakes and evil things I’ve done came and revisited me. It haunted me.

Then I was thrown to today. Suddenly, those nightmares of mine became the foundations to where I am right now.  Those made me stronger. My determination broadened and my will to stay alive is now hardened. I know that this just the beginning of a new life God has given me.

I’ll just stay awake, aware and sane to all the hurdles that I may encounter.

power of sleep

‘’Following stroke, patients may be faced with occupational dysfunction. Occupational performance capacity may become impaired, impacting on their physical, cognitive and psychosocial capacity to adapt to effectively meet the demands of and engage in their usual occupations, thus impinging on their occupational identity, health and well-being.’’ (Occupational Therapy and Stroke, Second Edition, Edited by Judi Edmans).

To hear or simply read such lines from the expert simplifies a thing. Whatever way one puts it. It spells restraint. Because of the incapacitation on everything, tears came running down my cheeks again. It went down together with my hopes and dreams. Depressed and felt fallen apart, I resorted to my last known solution to these; although temporary, it felt good, I slept.

It does not solve anything but waking up gave me a new perspective on how to face this dilemma.

How I wish it was all a dream
Those things may not be as it seems
New life and hope I guess
Nothing but me in a dress

Though wrecked, everything new
All turned alternately black and blue
Left me with sanity and needed wisdom
To lift myself and carry all along

Telling me please don’t bother
Asking or look in another
Or tell me what it is all about
All I can say is: I’m down, but definitely not out!

Love and be loved

In this rather gruesome yet inviting weather, I am again strained by my cold and stroked senses to engage more on the subject which everybody is so fond about, age and sex defies, and the thing that unites us all – love.

It comes in different ways, expressed in various ways, shared, given and taken. To some, it means more than life. To some, it means everything. But others take the opportunity of it being generalized and broad that it sometimes loses its intended meaning or purpose.

I have loved, experienced it, given it reluctantly without any ifs or buts, and to some extent, regretted having given it. But deep inside me is crushing that guilt feeling because what I gave was true. True to the fact that it has no conditions. Sad to say that the unconditional love I gave wounded me. God knows how I have loved and I want to be, sinful as I am, like Him.

Appreciate

After doing a massive task of drenching myself to the countless possibilities served by technology, mauled I was. My stroked body, heavy on emotions, work revisions, connection flaws, a dear friend’s absence, loss of clear ideas, and consider almost anything that gets in the way of me advancing and improving pulls me back. I still remember my boss saying: ...if shit hits the fan...

But I’m fully aware of this and its possible repercussions if left unattended. Just as my ‘’Tol’’ advised me, I’m taking a rest. Husserl’s method might work this time. Being apart from your being and looking at it subjectively. Clearing away the cobwebs and polishing my present outlook is considerable. To be appreciative of all things stops the fan and clears the shit. Appreciate, appreciate, and in this life, we must appreciate.

Changing one’s mode of preference in life in every aspect and holding your stand with it makes the true value of freedom a must for each one of us. Weather we go on to a shallow path or live cruising a path that looks easy, it’s our freedom to chose still emerges.

As long as you are happy and contended with it, there’s no reason to brag, curse or malign it. It’s definitely you and you alone which  makes or breaks your choice.
